Possible disruption of Eurofiber services due to urbanization development project in the Brussels-South railway station area

Eurofiber considers it important to inform its customers about planned activities that might impact the services purchased. A major urbanization development project near the Brussels-South railway station could affect your Eurofiber connection.
This webpage was created to provide a clear overview of what these activities involve and how we will communicate with you if your Eurofiber services are affected.

Eurofiber is required to move its services to a new location by September 30, 2022. This location is already being prepared, so that the migration can take place as efficiently as possible and with limited impact on our customers. The migration of services, scheduled for May/June 2022, will take several weeks.
Scheduling of activities
On the right is an overview of the planned work. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our experts.
- January–February: Preparation for the migration
- March–April: Construction of the new site and infrastructure
- May: Migration of services to the new location
- June–August: Migration of the individual connections through the newly built routes
What is Eurofiber doing to minimize the impact on its customers?
- The disconnecting of the old site and start-up of the new site must take place in a specific chronological order so that the impact – as well as the risks – are reduced to a minimum and a roll-back scenario is possible for each customer.
- The migration process step by step:
- The technical architecture and construction of the new location will be identical to that of the current site.
- The current location will be redundantly connected to the new location.
- Migration of Eurofiber services to the new location using the existing connections.
- The existing connections will be replaced one by one with new connections to the new location.
- Interruptions will last a few hours at most and always occur outside of office hours.
How does Eurofiber communicate with impacted customers?
- Eurofiber will take the initiative to contact impacted customers as soon as possible. Customers will be informed about the expected impact and when it will occur.
- Considering the scope of the activities, we are also adjusting our standard deadline for informing customers about the relevant planned activities.
Current status of the works
So far everything has gone smoothly and since May 14 the new node is in operation. We are still building the final fiber routes to the new location until mid-June. Once finished, these will be put into operation step by step over the next few months.
