Eurofiber Supports the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition
Investing in Digital Infrastructure is Essential for the Netherlands
Eurofiber recognizes the importance of a robust digital infrastructure for the future of the Netherlands. That’s why we support the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition (Zeekabel Coalition) and its call to invest in intercontinental and intra-European submarine cables. These cables, together with fiber networks, data centers, and secure cloud access, form the digital backbone of our economy and society.
The recently published Wennink report emphasizes that innovation ecosystems can only thrive if there is sufficient capacity in our digital networks. Without these investments, the strategic autonomy and earning power of the Netherlands will be under pressure. Every day, Eurofiber works on secure, high-capacity networks for data transport, AI, and cloud, contributing to a sovereign position so that connectivity and energy bottlenecks do not force critical IT capacity to move abroad.

Rhoderick van der Wyck, MD Eurofiber International:
“Digital infrastructure is the backbone of our economy and society. Investing in intercontinental and intra-European submarine cables is essential to future-proof the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. Together with the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition, Eurofiber is committed to ensuring our country remains strategically autonomous and that innovation ecosystems can flourish by ensuring there is enough resilience through network diversity. Only by investing now can we prevent critical IT know-how and capacity from moving abroad and maintain our position as Europe’s digital gateway. As IOEMA’s nominated landing partner for The Hague and Eemshaven cable landings, Eurofiber enables onward connectivity and distribution to hundreds of data centers and thousands of business locations across its international fiber network. Together with the Dutch Subsea Cable Coalition and our partners, we are committed to a future-proof digital infrastructure!”
