Michiel Eielts, Chair of the Dutch Data Center Association: “The Netherlands’ digital infrastructure is undergoing a period of major change. The rapid development of AI, the growing focus on digital autonomy and the pressure on the energy system require expertise, collaboration and a clear long-term vision. Elisabeth Hankeln, Managing Director of Eurofiber Cloud Infra: “Data centres are an essential part of the Netherlands’ and Europe’s critical infrastructure. The challenge is not only to enable digital growth, but also to integrate that growth responsibly while addressing issues such as grid congestion, land use and sustainability. How successfully we tackle these issues together with public authorities and civil society partners will help determine the Netherlands’ ability to maintain its strong digital position. The DDA plays an important role in this, and I look forward to contributing.”

With the appointment of Elisabeth Hankeln, the Board of the Dutch Data Center Association now comprises seven members: Michiel Eielts (Equinix), Eric Boonstra (KevlinX), Dick Theunissen (EdgeConneX), Alexandra Schless (NorthC Datacenters), Rob Stevens (Interconnect), Vincent in ’t Veld (Digital Realty) and Elisabeth Hankeln (Eurofiber).
