Eurofiber acquires majority in cloud platform provider MatrixMind

Summary

Eurofiber acquires a majority share in MatrixMind, a Dutch company that specializes in hybrid and multi-cloud solutions. The company has become part of Eurofiber Group as of 6 November 2020.

Founded in 2015, MatrixMind offers its customers an innovative managed hybrid cloud integration platform, which builds integrated cloud solutions by integrating all possible IT environments: from on-premises (IT in its own server room) to co-location (with servers in leased space at a datacenter) to private cloud (infrastructure as a service, IaaS, PaaS) and public cloud (such as Azure, AWS and Google). Customers can choose when and how they want to bring each part of their data to the cloud, with the MatrixMind platform acting as a central hub, giving the customer a virtual environment for all their data.

The MatrixMind platform enables Eurofiber to easily connect its current IaaS, co-location and connectivity services and offer them to its clients. Eric Kuisch, Chief Operating Officer at Eurofiber, explains: ‘Data continues to grow exponentially, accompanied by increased demand for fiberoptic connections. We see a growing need among our customers for flexibility. They want to be able to decide for themselves if they want to move to the private or public cloud, for example, and how fast – and they also want to be able to partially go back or switch providers if necessary. In terms of connectivity, the need for flexibility translates into the demand for real-time scalable capacity, which we offer through our DCspine platform. MatrixMind enables us to offer our customers integrated solutions as well as the desired flexibility in their hybrid and multi-cloud strategy. Accordingly, the platform will play a significant role in our portfolio.’

‘Scalable, dedicated connections have always been the basis for the cloud integration platforms we design, realize and manage for our customers,’ says MatrixMind CEO Lucas den Os. ‘These platforms are hybrid and multi-cloud in nature, almost by definition, and are expected to continue to expand in terms of locations, services and service providers, simply because new business initiatives demand it. By default, our solution is designed to accommodate that flexibility. Joining Eurofiber offers us great opportunities to keep pursuing our growth ambitions, in terms of turnover, innovative capacity and professionalism. With Eurofiber’s portfolio, we can now also offer the associated private and high performance connections, co-location and private cloud services, all under the same umbrella, taking final responsibility for the entire hybrid cloud chain.’

Eurofiber has acquired a majority of the shares in MatrixMind B.V. as of 6 November 2020. All current employees, including the board of directors, will continue to be employed by the company.
