KLM has seen an acute increase in the dependence on ICT. An increasing number of business-critical processes run via the computer. Whether it’s online ticket sales and check-in and the flight and crew planning, or dealing with freight and passenger flows at the airport and financial processes. Two mirrored data centres ensure that all applications are up and running again within four hours, should one of the two centres be hit by a disaster. A vital part of this solution for disaster recovery, named ‘TwinCenter’, is a fibre-rich fibre-optic connection provided by Eurofiber.
