Pauw & Witteman, De Wereld Draait Door and De Nieuwste Show are just a few of the growing number of live Dutch TV programmes that are no longer recorded in a Hilversum studio, but on location in Amsterdam. There are numerous events that are broadcast live from the capital. Technicolor (formerly NOB) transmits all live images to the Media Park in Hiversum. The transmission is reliable, high speed and maintains a high quality product for further distribution to broadcasting companies. That takes place via a dark fiber ring. This ‘Mediaring Amsterdam’ connects a large number of studios and event locations in Amsterdam, but also for example Paul de Leeuw’s studio in Almere. It has enabled Technicolor to optimise the services that they have on offer and to develop competitive new services.
